I started in retail at 17 at The Limited in Sharpstown Mall, I wanted money to buy clothes - haven't looked back since -- been in it for 34 years now!

Why/how I got into fashion:

My mother never left the house without make-up, hair done and a great outfit on. She taught me that you should always be appropriately dressed and it's better to be overdressed than underdressed! My first job at 16 years old was at Belk Lindsey. I've come a long way since then.

 

My go-to outfit:

Dresses, they are a one piece outfit. Sometimes you just need easy!

Getting my maxi dress caught in an escalator. It nearly pulled my dress off and it had to be cut off to escape.

The era we are in. Anything goes! It's like a fabulous compilation of all eras and we aren't restricted by shape, length, fabric, etc.

Assisting Marlo Thomas select a blue sweater for her husband Phil Donahue. She told me she loves his blue eyes. We shopped for her after. I really admire her work with St. Jude's.

My love for fashion started at a young age, when I would sew and embroider clothes for my dolls, and eventually designing my own pieces. Fashion has always been a creative outlet for me, and that passion has only grown stronger over time.
